  4. It was definitely played on Farda about a year ago. That’s where I first heard the song. I was doing a project on the station so I have many hours of their programming downloaded. I was listening over and over to a segment to translate it when the song burrowed its way into my ear and forced me to buy their album on itunes. (not quite worth it– demokracy is the best song by far).

    On the clip I have, it was not played in full but several verses are clearly audible. It was used as a background for (even more ironically) a piece about Iranian youth understandings of democracy. The lyrics are pretty figurative and don’t mention the US or Iraq specifically, but when paired with this video, the impression is much different.
